1. Smartphone launch

The Solana mobile team stated, "It's made for the people" when announcing the release of its smartphones. According to the sources, pre-orders for smartphones will start in 2023. The company still needs to make the official date public.

The smartphone stands out for its ability to securely store crypto wallet secret keys. A Qualcomm processor with an Arm-based system-on-chip (SoC) will power the smartphone, enabling increased productivity.

2. Google to become a Solana node validator soon

Google stated that it would run a block-producing Solana validator enabling it to participate in and validate the network. In addition to joining the ecosystem as a validator, Google Cloud has collaborated with the company to integrate its Blockchain Node Engine.

Google Cloud's Blockchain Node Engine is a fully managed node-hosting service that eliminates the need for complex node operations. Previously, the service provided turnkey node hosting for Ethereum and its burgeoning developer ecosystem.

Including Solana in the Blockchain Node Engine will significantly cut the time required to run a Solana node, making it available to a wider range of users.

The company also disclosed that it is currently indexing and bringing network data into BigQuery.
