In February 2022, Oasys, an innovative blockchain created and developed for the games and gaming community, launched.

The gaming community can use Oasys games architecture, which combines EVM-compatible Layer 1 (Hub-Layer) and Layer 2 (Verse-Layer) technological solutions to provide players with a high-speed, zero-gas cost experience. Developers, gamers, and fans will have the opportunity to partake in an exceptional user experience.

For Oasys to come to life, the new gaming chain collaborates with major gaming and Web3 technology businesses, which serve as the 21 initial validators. Gamers and developers using Oasys architecture can use blockchain technology to provide multi-platform and cross-game portability of in-game purchases and skins.

Oasys games ecosystem

"The launch of the ecosystem will revolutionise the way gamers connect, create, and play within the Metaverse," said Gabby Dizon, a founding team member and Co-Founder of Yield Guild Games, a play-to-earn gaming guild. "Thanks to the eco-friendly blockchain, the gaming community can conduct frictionless transactions throughout the ecosystem. We recognise the difficulties that blockchain games built on Ethereum face."

Opinions on Oasys launch

Shuji Utsumi commented, "Oasys games bring the story to life.

"Gamers are familiar with other fictionalised virtual realities, and it is exactly that, with the added benefit of developer support and recognising the need for an eco-friendly platform that considers important societal and cultural considerations."

"This is only the first step," BANDAI NAMCO Research's Hajime Nakatani explained. "The Oasys invites content creators to join our ecosystem and community.

"As involvement in the ecosystem grows, so will fan adoption, bringing the 'Oasys' into the mainstream as a tool for real-world interactions."

"The Metaverse has arrived! Blockchain technology will play a significant part in how people engage in the virtual world," stated Hironao Kunimitsu, founder of Gumi and CEO of Thirdverse. "But it does something revolutionary for the gaming community, transforming the fictional into a reality."

"This is a fascinating project," said double jump.tokyo CEO Hironobu Ueno. "The architecture integrates the latest L1 and L2 technology solutions and is designed to be optimal for game developers and the gaming community, drawing on our four years of experience developing blockchain games."
