We didn't stop it in the beginning because we didn't understand how significant it would become, and we aren't putting a stop to it now because there's too much money and power invested in it.

The congressman is concerned not just about the possibility of individual investors being cheated but also about the possibility of bitcoin being a risk to the national security of the United States. He believes that BTC poses a systemic risk, provides opportunities for criminals, and undermines the US currency's dominance. Bitcoin Depot announced the merger with the SPAC GSR II Meteora Acquisition Group (GSRM) will be complete by the end of 2023.

The total price of the deal is forecast to be $885 million. The transaction estimates to raise around $321 million, which will be deposited into a trust account managed by GSRM and used to provide working capital for Bitcoin Depot.

These platforms are anticipated to debut in the first half of 2023.

Two notable companies mentioned were Samsung Securities (a division of Samsung Futures Inc) and Mirae Asset Securities. 

Samsung Securities has been investigating the feasibility of entering the blockchain industry and the security tokens market, hence the plans of launching their exchange in the near future. Mirae has unveiled a new division called Mirae Consulting, which hires technical people to work on various cryptocurrency and Non-Fungible Token (NFT) initiatives.
