US financial watchdog the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) has filed charges against crypto lending firms Gemini and Genesis.

You can easily create your account by downloading its app on your phone or getting its extension on your device. Once it’s downloaded, go to the ‘get started’ option. Simply follow the instructions there, and you will have your crypto wallet.   

2.	Integrate wallet to BSC

3.	Purchase Binance coin

You should have Binance Coin (BNB) to buy IBAT through PancakeSwap. You can easily purchase it through any of the top-rated exchanges. After that, transfer the coins to your [crypto wallet](/news/article/crypto-wallet-multiple-currencies) so that you can swap them with IBATs.

4.	Connect your crypto wallet to PancakeSwap

IBAT is now listed on the PancakeSwap exchange. Once you have purchased BNB, you must connect your crypto wallet to this exchange. It discusses the risks and the potential benefits of [stablecoins](/news/article/what-are-stablecoins). 

It further analyses the working mechanism of these crypto assets and explores how they should be distributed. However, the most critical point that staffers discussed is [stablecoin regularisation](/news/article/euroc). 

## Bank of Canada on the usage of fiat-pegged crypto assets

The report says that the global market of fiat-backed cryptocurrencies has seen a 30-fold growth in the past two years. Currently, the estimated value of this market stands at $161 billion. Yet, these coins have limited usage.

It points out that these assets are primarily used on trading platforms as payment options. However, they may have various other use cases for different users. For instance, they can also be adopted as a payment option for goods and services. 

However, the authors emphasised that it is only possible with “well-designed and appropriately regulated” stablecoins. The note adds that stablecoins could benefit payment services because of their efficiency. They can also help shape a digitised economy, but safeguarding is essential to eliminate the risk of instability, it says.

## The identified risks

The analytical note identified several risks that can cause instability in the financial system. They include run, contagion, concentration, consumer and investor protection, and accountability risks.

Run can happen when fiat-referenced coins lose their peg and cannot be redeemed. A run incident occurred in the market when the [Terra-Luna ecosystem](/news/article/terra-luna-collapse) collapsed in May.  

Similarly, there is a contagion risk because 50% of the trades in the crypto market happen in stablecoins. Most centralised/decentralised exchanges and DeFi platforms are affiliated with these assets. So, if a run happens for a stable asset, the market will likely feel disruption.

Concentration is another issue that can be problematic for investors. The report says that around 90% of the market is dominated by only three stable assets. Only 1% of investors hold more than 90% of these assets.

## How does the Quant network work?

1.	Transactional layer
At this layer, all transactions are managed and stored. It maintains consensus between different blockchain domains. Also, it ensures that transactions of one blockchain are validated only on its domain and not on other blockchains. 

2.	Messaging layer
Messaging layer is a logical layer that retrieves relevant information from all ledgers. It stores transaction data, metadata, and smart contract information. Besides, all the communication between DApps takes place at this layer. 

3.	Filtering & ordering layer
This layer is quite similar to the messaging one. But it deals with specific messages from the transactions. Out-of-chain messages, referenced by hashes, need to be ordered and filtered. This layer communicates with the messaging layer for ordering and filtering.

4.	Application layer
At this level, the state of the application is inspected. Messages with valid signatures and formats may update the status of the application. References are made through hash pointers which can refer to the storage.

## QNT Crypto - The native token of Quant

QNT crypto was introduced in 2018 via an initial coin offering (ICO). It secured more than $11 million with the ICO. It is the utility token that fuels the entire ecosystem. All the transactions, like trading fees and platform fees, are paid through QNT tokens. Besides, MApps built on Quant will give access to QNT crypto to the service providers and users.

## QNT crypto price prediction and analysis

In mid-October, [QNT crypto’s price](/news/article/quant-price-prediction) saw a positive movement. It peaked on 17 October at $226, which was its highest value in 2022 so far. It appeared to be a price correction after the upward trend that started in June. It broke the support level of $150 and was trading above it. This indicated the next bullish run for the coin.

However, it could not persist with the bullish movement. Currently, it is changing hands at $106. The bullish run was invalidated because it fell well short of the support level. It has seen a drop of over 32% in the past seven days and showing bearish signs.

But as the value is down, it could be a buying time for the investors. The trends suggest it might show a slight recovery in the coming week. QNT crypto might reach $115 if it continues the recovery. Notably, the next support level for the coin is $87, whereas its resistance level is $123.

QNT Crypto - Everything You Need to Know

The largest crypto exchange, [Binance](https://www.binance.com/en), suffers massive withdrawals as the platform experiences outflows of more than $1 billion in 24 hours.

Currently, it is surrounded by [FUD](/news/article/ftx-vs-binance-liquidate-funds) and rumours that are affecting its position in the market. 

Binance CEO and co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) took to Twitter to clarify the situation. He said his firm saw more than $1.14 billion of withdrawals on Tuesday. He further stated that these outflows were not the highest they processed and called it "business as usual." Meanwhile, customers are continually removing their assets from their accounts.

## Binance suffers highest daily withdrawals since June

Analysis by blockchain analytical firm [Nansen](https://www.nansen.ai/) shows that this is the highest level of withdrawals in a day for Binance since June. The report also claims that the total withdrawals for the exchange have been more than $3 billion.

It is contrary to the figure that CZ announced on Twitter. It could be an act of downplaying the situation like FTX previously did. Nonetheless, Binance is currently fighting against investor jitters in this crypto winter.  

## FUD in the market

Since the collapse of Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX, FUD has taken over the market. On Tuesday, Sam was [arrested for fraud](/news/article/former-ftx-ceo-sbf-arrested), considered one of the largest-scale financial scandals in US history. The FTX contagion has spread over the entire crypto market. Binance Suffers $1 Billion in Withdrawals

South Korean prosecutors claim that the founder and CEO of [Terraform Labs](https://www.terra.money/), Do Kwon, is hiding in Serbia. They believe he left Singapore a couple of months earlier and moved to Serbia. 

[Do Kwon](/news/article/do-kwon-terra) is hiding as he was charged with a breach of financial laws. He is involved in the controversial collapse of the Terra ecosystem that startled the market. However, the global manhunt for the crypto fugitive is still going on. 

A report by [Chosun Media](https://www.chosun.com/economy/stock-finance/2022/12/12/VXFAUH7R7BFSVCYDEM7RNPRCXI/) says that the investigation authorities have stated that they received intelligence about his whereabouts in Serbia. They investigated further and “found it to be true".

## Do Kwon hiding: South Korean authorities seek cooperation

The South Korean investigation authority is already seeking to cooperate with the Serbian government. The Chosun Media report also suggests that the Financial and Securities Criminal Unit of Seoul Southern District Prosecutor will request assistance from Serbian officials. 

The authorities have yet to discover why Do Kwon left for Serbia. They believe it is only to avoid investigation and prosecution.

The notorious figure in the crypto industry earlier moved to Singapore just before [Terra-Luna collapsed](/news/article/terra-luna-collapse). In September, Seoul’s prosecutors issued red warrants for his arrest. The charges included breaching capital market regulations and also giving false information to investors. 

Since then, his whereabouts have not been known. The Korean authorities are yet to track down the fugitive's exact location. In October, they found out that he had left Singapore. He is believed to fly to Dubai and then to an unknown country. Singaporean officials also confirmed this news.

In October, South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warrant to surrender his passport. However, they have yet to get a response. Meanwhile, on Twitter, he maintained that he was not trying to hide.
