The stablecoin is currently ranked the 6th largest cryptocurrency with a live market cap of $21,997,255,977. Its market demand has grown exponentially, given that by the end of 2021, its market cap was close to 15 billion.

They picked up in February, ending the month worth $0.2604. There weren't any significant price changes until May, when they dropped to trading below $0.1. They would continue to trade below $0.1 till the time of writing.

## GALA BUSD prediction

Several crypto prediction platforms predict a promising future for GALA tokens. They view the coins as a good long-term investment option.

Cryptopolitan predicts they might trade at a maximum price of $0.054 in 2023, $0.076 in 2024, $0.12 in 2025, and $0.17 in 2026. Those holding the coins a little longer might see a maximum price of $1.10 by 2031, according to the site.

Changelly predicts they might trade at an average price of $0.056 in 2024, around $0.081 in 2025, $0.12 in 2026, and $0.2 in 2027. They will, however, not get to trading above $1 even by 2031, according to the site.

It is worth noting that in November 2022 Gala Games was all over the news after it was reported that it had been hacked. A suspected attacker had supposedly minted $2 billion worth of GALA on the BNB smart chain and proceeded to dump some of the tokens on PancakeSwap.

The company assured its community that the incident was just a procedure to test its vulnerabilities and that it had not been hacked.

To put it briefly, collateralization is securing a loan by providing a valuable asset in return to the lender. The asset that's provided as security to the lender is called collateral. Dai's approach to being a stablecoin in the crypto industry also follows the collateralization route.

## Crypto-backed collateralization

In this case, users provide cryptocurrency as collateral to obtain that project's tokens. To get their crypto back from the platform, they need to return the exact amount of tokens they borrowed plus a processing fee.

If we're talking about Dai crypto, in particular, it makes use of Ethereum as crypto collateral. So, users keep Ethereum in the vault of MakerDAO as collateral to receive Dai tokens in return. And, when they're looking to retrieve their Ethereum, they need to pay the exact amount they loaned in Dai, plus a fee on top. This is how the platform maintains stability and consistently matches with the USD.

## Fiat-backed collateralization

This follows the procedure of the crypto-based method, but uses fiat instead of cryptocurrency as collateral. Users can provide any fiat currency as collateral to receive that platform's token and then vice versa when they need to return it. ## What makes Dai crypto unique?

A major factor that makes the Dai crypto unique is that it was one of the first projects to introduce the idea of decentralized finance or DeFi. Its usage of stablecoins and matching with the exact value of the dollar, but more liquid and accessible, meant that it seemed more viable for the future.

Dai crypto is also one of the few stablecoins based on Ethereum using crypto collateralization. It also offers great incentives and security for users. One huge security factor with Dai is that it maintains a specific ratio of 150% of Ethereum kept as collateral to the amount borrowed in Dai. This means that to borrow $10 worth of Dai, one would need to keep $15 worth of Ethereum as collateral with MakerDAO.

And, if this ratio is ever broken or inconsistent, the user can appeal and receive a proportion of the collateralized Ethereum in compensation.

## Anomalies with Dai crypto

Dai has remained pretty stable over the years, with the crypto matching the USD value with a 1:1 ratio. However, there was one incident where it spiked to $1.11 in value. An increase of 0.11 might not seem much in the crypto world usually, but it's massive for a stablecoin.

It's worth noting that this happened during the COVID-19 pandemic when the market was extremely volatile. Apart from that, Dai has remained one of the best stablecoin options in the market, if not the best.

## Integration with applications and MKR token

MKR is the main crypto token of the MakerDAO platform and is tied heavily with Dai. Its primary role lies in the governance and operation of Dai. ## How to summarize the Sweatcoin crypto offering?

After a bruising 2022, the cryptocurrency markets have started this year with a more positive energy. The global crypto market has seen a 2.01% increase in 24 hours. The market cap stands at £739.21billion now. There has been a 23.88% increase in the total crypto value in a day. It now stands at £46.57 billion.

## BTC hikes by 3.45%

With a 3.45% price hike in the last 24 hours, BTC is now valued at £15,394. [There has been a long wait for BTC to cross the $18,000 mark](/news/article/bitcoin-forecast-2023).

Luna Classic (LUNC), formerly Terra Luna (LUNA), was given a new name after a disastrous crash. After the collapse, Luna Classic news said the recovery procedure would be carried out to create a new chain supporting future transactions.

Terra Classic (LUNC) created the stablecoin TerraUSD by destroying LUNA with the help of smart contracts. 

TerraUSD's price was fixed to the US dollar for 18 months before being unpegged to retain its value against it.

This unpegging resulted in the death of TerraUSD and the LUNA coin. To validate transactions, the new LUNA will employ the Proof-of-Stake mechanism, which can also be used for passive revenue. The project has a total supply of 6.88 trillion coins, and the price reached an all-time high of $119.18 in April 2022.

## Luna Classic news and Do Kwon

In recent Luna Classic news, it was reported that South Korea was attempting to revoke Kwon's passport, which might compel him to return home. According to [Bloomberg's](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-10-06/crypto-fugitive-do-kwon-is-set-to-lose-his-south-korean-passport) Luna Classic news, a request has been made to the country's Foreign Ministry to cancel the travel passport. A warrant for his arrest and those of other members has already been issued.

According to Yonhap News, Seoul Southern District Court Chief Warrant Judge Hong Jin-Pyo has cancelled the arrest warrant for Terraform Labs co-founder Shin Hyun-Seong and other Kwon partners. The judge found "minimal chance" that Shin or Terra associates would destroy evidence connected to the crypto firm's claims.

The announcement is a relief to Terra Luna Classic investors, who had been worried about the implications of the arrest warrants on the cryptocurrency corporation and its price.

According to the report, Terra co-founder Do Kwon is unlikely to return to South Korea due to ongoing legal processes.

The cryptocurrency market experienced a difficult "crypto winter" in 2022, with many [altcoins](/news/article/altcoin-buzz), including ETH, seeing significant price corrections of up to 70%. But Ethereum whales are contributing to the fightback.

Recently the cryptocurrency market has shown some positive signs in 2023, with Ethereum experiencing a surge in value after experiencing strong selling pressure following the [collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX](/news/article/is-crypto-dead) last month. 

As of 4 January, ETH's price had risen 5% to $1,253, and its market capitalization had reached $153 billion. This improvement has been linked to increased activity by Ethereum whales, who have conducted over 600 transactions totaling more than $100,000 on the blockchain in the past 24 hours.

Here's what on-chain data provider Santiment [tweeted](https://twitter.com/santimentfeed/status/1610750951379599362) on the recent uptick in activity by Ethereum whales.

"As #altcoins have heated up, #Ethereum quietly rebounded back above $1,260 for the 1st time in 3 weeks. Though not quite at the level of the big whale dip buys on 16 December ($ETH's local price bottom), whales are showing increased interest again. "

This increased activity from whales is a positive sign for Ethereum's short-term prospects.

## Ethereum co-founder expresses bullish outlook

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has expressed a bullish outlook for the platform in 2023, following one of the worst crypto winters of market history in 2022. 

Buterin has announced plans to launch the ETH Improvement Protocol (EIP) 4884 in the near future. In response to a [tweet](https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1609209529706872833) by Balaji Srinivasan, Buterin stated that he is excited to achieve the "basic roll-up" milestone outlined in Ethereum's roadmap. The EIP 4884 is expected to bring significant improvements to the platform.

However, Buterin also stated several areas needing improvement within the cryptocurrency industry, including enhancing security for average users and improving scaling, privacy, and user experience. Despite these challenges, he remains confident in the potential of decentralized finance (DeFi) to play a significant role in the future financial system.

What is Anyswap? 

Circle Head of Global Policy and Chief Strategy Officer Dante Disparte said that the instability in the market over the past year might signify a shift in the technology to more stable and resilient businesses in the crypto 2023 market.

Disparte spoke from his position at Circle, the issuer of the USD Coin ([USDC](/news/article/usdc-coin-losses), a stablecoin tied to the US dollar. In addition, he is a member of WEF's Digital Currency Governance Consortium and a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

## Could we expect more stability in crypto 2023?

According to Disparte, despite the disastrous year for cryptocurrency, which he compares to a [crypto](/news/article/yield-farming-crypto) ice age rather than winter, cryptography and blockchain will remain an important part of the current economic landscape.

He stated that 2022 was a horrible year for cryptocurrency markets, with one of the most destructive bear markets ever recorded and the failure of several big platforms. 

[Despite](https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2022-11-11/circle-s-disparte-on-crypto-crisis-video) these barriers, he believes that mainstream financial institutions will eventually migrate to cryptocurrencies because the technology remains a prominent participant in finance.

He added that it is important to pay attention to the actions of big banks and mature financial services firms rather than their words when understanding the staying power of digital assets and blockchain technology, asserting his bullish views for crypto 2023 technology.

Disparte's statements come amid a shift in attitude among some of the most vocal opponents of cryptocurrency, who have now started to embrace it. Despite being repeatedly declared as failed or deceased (Bitcoin Obituaries Archive says more than 460 times), [Bitcoin](/news/article/how-to-buy-bitcoin-uk) and other cryptocurrencies have continued to grow in popularity and become more widely accepted.

Furthermore, Disparte reinforced his viewpoint in a recent opinion post for the Diplomatic Courier, calling it "disingenuous" for bankers to bash Bitcoin with one hand while attempting to usurp its ideas with the other.


Crypto 2023: Circle CSO Makes Prediction

Let's look at some of the main features and benefits of the project.

## Rewards

As mentioned above, KAPEX crypto is essentially the reward token for those staking on the parent network. In addition, every transaction across the ecosystem increases the token's liquidity.

So other than rewards for passive staking, what other benefits are there to holding the coin? The benefits are wide-ranging and include:

•	Paying of exchange fees.

•	Paying service and product fees.

•	Purchasing of NFTs.

•	Paying staff or contractors.

•	Motivating team members as a bonus.

•	All business-to-consumer transactions.

•	Peer-to-peer transactions.

In addition to the above, the project has very low network fees, resulting in ultra-low transaction costs. Its supply is controlled by algorithmic tokenomics and backed by its sister coin. Furthermore, anyone looking to unstake their KODA will need to pay for this with KAPEX.

It sounds like an excellent crypto to get involved in, and, with prices currently at historic lows, now is a good time to buy. But are there any drawbacks?

## Compromise

Sadly, the program was compromised via both PancakeSwap and SummitSwap on 17 October, 2022, with the loss of some 78 BNB coins equalling £21,561 of user funds. As a consequence, the management team has advised not to buy the coin going forward. The exact details are unclear, but it appears to be the result of a [vanity address exploit](https://koda.finance/kapex-exploit-on-17th-october-2022/).

This hack and the subsequent price drop are obviously alarming and not a great look for the team behind the project.

Both tokens are managed by 'Summit Better Crypto Limited', which describes itself as a "PR and marketing firm specialising in the promotions of projects within the Cryptocurrency world".

As the company was only set up in May 2021, no filings of accounts are available for analysis. Furthermore, the company website states, "SummitBC employs third-party developers to support the projects we are promoting". Make of this what you will.

Something we can take away from this project is the urgent need for comprehensive [regulation in the crypto space](/news/article/crypto-regulation-uk). While there is nothing to suggest that there has been any wrongdoing in this example, the collapse of KAPEX value shows that consumers desperately need better protection.

Furthermore, this example shows that it is important for consumers to carry out stringent due diligence to ensure any investments they make are based on realistic future projections rather than promotional shilling through social media or so-called 'crypto influencers'.

Kapex Crypto: Signal for Tougher Regulation?

[Crypto.com](https://crypto.com/) was one of the sponsors of the 2022 [FIFA World Cup](/news/article/world-cup-vr-viewing) in Qatar. The initiative was taken to promote its Cronos crypto (CRO). It was expected that the publicity campaign at the biggest sports tournament would boost the coin's value.

However, the tournament offererd little exposure to CRO. It failed to trigger any significant price action for the coin. While many cryptocurrencies were consolidating their positions before a potential rally during Christmas, CRO is still bearish. Currently, the trading price of Cronos is only $0.064.

## CRO’s market value dropped by 50% in November

Instead of getting a boost, the Cronos crypto price fell by more than 50% in November. The FIFA World Cup did not benefit Crypto.com in providing global exposure. It is partly because of the politicisation of this sports event. The ban on wearing LGBTQ+ armbands and the prohibition of alcohol at tournament venues created controversy. 

Currently, the media is mainly generating negative headlines for FIFA and the Qatari Government. It has taken the limelight from the sponsors and has somewhat affected their reputation. 

## The effect of FTX contagion

The [collapse of the FTX exchange](/news/article/ftx-collapse-blockfi-suspend-withdrawals) also played its part in the price decline. It has become an unstoppable contagion that has affected numerous DeFi projects. The entire cryptocurrency market experienced the impact of its collapse in November.

CRO suffered from the FTX crash as it is an exchange token like FTT. The FTT token was the native token of the FTX exchange. Likewise, CRO powers the Crypto.com exchange. Cronos felt burnt as investors lost trust in tokens dependent on exchanges' performance.

Unfortunately, CRO remains one of the coins that failed to recover. It was trading at around $0.12 at the start of the month. But after the first week, it saw a sharp decline that persists. At the end of the month, it had shed more than 50% of its market value. It is now trading at around $0.064, according to [CoinMarketCap](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/cronos/).

## Cronos crypto price prediction

Currently, Cronos’ crypto price is less than its 200-day and 50-day simple moving averages (SMA). It is showing a continuous bearish trend while indicating high selling pressure. Moreover, the trends are neutral to bearish for the coming weeks. 

Now, let’s see the long-term price predictions for Crypto.com coin. The forecast from [PricePrediction.net](https://priceprediction.net/en/price-prediction/cronos) shows that next year, CRO’s price will average $0.098. Besides, it may top the price charts with $0.11. Moreover, in 2025 it is likely to maintain the average market value of $0.22. According to these insights, it is expected to reach the $1 mark in 2030 and will average $1.44 in the year. 

In comparison, [Coin Codex](https://coincodex.com/crypto/cronos/price-prediction/) predictions are slightly bullish. It predicts that in 2023, CRO’s value may reach $ 0.193269 to $ 0.332090. Moreover, it suggests that the token may hit $1 in 2025. Potentially, its price may reach $ 1.634169 in the new year. 

## Is Cronos crypto a good investment?

The [Crypto.com coin](/news/article/crypto-com-card) blockchain introduces an open-source protocol. It allows the mass adoption of digital assets and promotes the benefits of ownership. The token also has the backing of one of the most influential exchanges in the market. 

Unfortunately, at the moment, investor confidence is relatively low in such exchange-backed tokens. It is showing bearish trends and has already shed 50% of its value in a month. It seems highly unlikely that the coin will recover in the near future. That's why it does not seem like a good time to buy Cronos.
