Tesla boss, Elon Musk has a history of engaging in keyboard wars on social media outlet Twitter with many notable names but one of the most infamous is his ongoing spat with Bill Gates.

It all supposedly kicked off in July 2020, the CEO of Microsoft suggested on CNBC's Squawk Box that Musk should reduce the number of controversial vaccination comments he makes and instead concentrate on developing electric cars and rockets.

Earlier this year in a tweet published, Elon Musk accused the billionaire co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates of placing bets up to half a billion dollars that the Tesla stock price would decline.

Bill Gates responded to Elon Musk by stating that shorting Tesla does not entail betting against the future of the environment or the electric automobiles industry.

[In an interview with the BBC](https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-61329167), Gates stated that his wager against Tesla has nothing to do with his advocacy for environmentally friendly initiatives and policies at the government level. 

"Climate change has absolutely nothing to do with it. I have various avenues for diversification", he stated in the interview. 

The growing market share of electric vehicles will inevitably give rise to increased levels of market competitiveness. There is a distinction between consumers adopting electric cars and businesses reaching their maximum potential value.

In an interview with French Youtuber Hugo Décrypte, Bill Gates mentioned he has invested a significant amount in sustainable finance to support companies that solve environmental and social issues.

"I give a lot more to climate change than Elon or anyone else," Gates said. "I give a lot of philanthropic dollars, I back companies - you know electric cars are about 16% of emissions, so we also need to solve that other 84%."

It is worth noting that Bill Gates plans to [donate virtually all of his wealth to the Bill and Malinda Gates foundation](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jul/15/bill-gates-billions-fotune-donate-foundation), a non-profit dedicated to fighting poverty, disease and inequity around the world.

Alto, an investing firm in the United States found out that 39% of Millennials in America hold digital assets. Individual stocks are owned by nearly the same percentage, as estimated in the American crypto survey.  

While some had a small portion of their wealth in mutual funds, the majority had some of their hard-earned money in crypto. Seventy percent of investors with a long-term outlook included cryptocurrencies in their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). 

Additionally, the American crypto survey found that citizens within the aforementioned age group who do not own any forms of digital currencies are considering entering the space in the not-too-distant future despite reservations by [Warren Buffet and Bill Gates](https://news.sky.com/story/elon-musk-sued-for-258bn-over-claims-he-ran-a-pyramid-scheme-to-promote-dogecoin-12635334) on the use of Bitcoin.

With that said, the current crypto climate where all cryptocurrencies are trading below 50% of all-time highs  has made it difficult for millennials to throw money behind any digital asset. Commenting on the insights from the study, founder and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alto, Eric Saltz said that in a modern world of conspicuous consumption, soaring living costs, and student loan debt reaching new highs, millennials are struggling to afford the present which makes it difficult to them to invest for the future.

Out of the assets available for investments, millennials are more interested in putting their monies into real estate. Statistically, 77% answered they would invest in properties, 55% are interested in testing Angel investing, and 67% were interested in jumping into innovation funds. 

Another study conducted by deVere Group, an international financial consultancy firm revealed that 51% of Generation Z (born between 1997 and 2012) and 36% of millennials would prefer receiving half of their salaries in cryptocurrencies instead of fiat money (USD). 

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of deVere Group, Nigel Green, many youngsters grew up within the technological revolution, and are accustomed to digital things. This has made it easy for them to embrace the latest innovation in the financial sector since they see massive potential in the use of cryptocurrencies. 

Moreover, per a survey by the Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) in June, 47% of millennial millionaires have at least 25% of their wealth in the decentralized finance market.

## Visa rolls out Bitcoin cashback cards in Latin America

The payments giant Visa has introduced its first crypto cards in Latin America and will premiere its new goods in Brazil and Argentina through numerous new partner organisations. The company noted in a statement that the move "includes newly announced cryptocurrency card programs and collaborations" with regional finance providers and crypto exchange companies.  

The incentive comes on the heels of Visa's previous, comparable crypto-related action in the region. Late last year, the business collaborated with the Argentine crypto exchange Lemon Cash to introduce a Visa card that provides clients with a 2% bitcoin (BTC) reward when they use the card to make payments. Visa is also launching a Visa Lemon Cash prepaid card in Argentina. Similarly, comparable solutions will be made available in Brazil in collaboration with the crypto-focused banking company Alterbank and the neobank Zro Bank. 

According to a senior vice president of Visa's products and innovations in Latin America, the rationale for this decision is that the region's crypto ecosystem is gaining pace through more investment, higher consumer acceptance, and crypto-enabled use cases. This will enable them to collaborate on our plan to advance the future of cryptocurrency and payments for our customers, clients, partners, and consumers."
