The lawyers for the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX filed a creditor matrix in the [Bankruptcy Court](https://www.deb.uscourts.gov/) of the US in Delaware District on 25 January. It is a detailed document that reveals all FTX creditors, including giants like Netflix, Amazon, Apple, and Coinbase.

The court document suggests that the fall of the [FTX crypto exchange](https://ftx.com/) has affected firms from various domains. Besides crypto firms, the collapse has troubled several banks, hotels, airlines, media agencies, charity organisations, and others. In addition, a few government entities are among its creditors.

## Big names from the list of FTX creditors

The creditor matrix is a 115-page document that provides names and mailing addresses of creditors in alphabetical order.

It illustrates the extent of damage caused by the fall of FTX.

As per the document, the bankruptcy of crypto exchanges left a deep impact on the tech industry. The SBF firm is indebted to the tech giants like Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Twitter, Google, Netflix, LinkedIn, and many others. 

In addition, media outlets, including big players like the New York Times, figure among its creditors.

In the Web3 sphere, the firm owes to companies like Coinbase, Yuga Labs, Galaxy Digital, Bittrex, Circle, Binance, and Chainalysis.

## FTX bankruptcy case

Not long ago, the FTX exchange was one of the largest in the industry. However, in November 2022, the firm experienced a liquidity crunch as its FTT token crashed.

This prompted the firm to file for insolvency, and its founder [SBF was arrested](/news/article/former-ftx-ceo-sbf-arrested) for financial laws violation. 

Earlier, the firm's lawyers mentioned that it owes money to more than a million creditors. The rough estimates suggest that the firm owes more than $100 million to each of its top ten creditors. However, the recent creditor matrix did not provide the estimated amounts of each creditor.

Solana announced several launches during the ecosystem's yearly gathering at Breakpoint 2022 in Lisbon as it prepares to enter the mainstream. During the conference, the company unveiled its roadmap, which includes the introduction of smartphones, [partnerships with Google Cloud](https://coinculture.com/au/business/solana-announces-google-partnership/) and decentralised application stores (dApps).

### 1.     Smartphone launch

The [Solana](/news/article/solana-phantom-wallet-guide) mobile team stated, "It's made for the people" when announcing the release of its smartphones. According to the sources, pre-orders for smartphones will start in 2023. The company still needs to make the official date public.

The smartphone stands out for its ability to securely store crypto [wallet](/news/article/best-ethereum-wallet) secret keys. A Qualcomm processor with an Arm-based system-on-chip (SoC) will power the smartphone, enabling increased productivity.

### 2.	Google to become a Solana node validator soon    

Google stated that it would run a block-producing Solana validator enabling it to participate in and validate the network.
In addition to joining the ecosystem as a validator, Google Cloud has collaborated with the company to integrate its [Blockchain](/news/article/what-is-blockchain) Node Engine.

Google Cloud's Blockchain Node Engine is a fully managed node-hosting service that eliminates the need for complex node operations. Previously, the service provided turnkey node hosting for Ethereum and its burgeoning developer ecosystem.

Including Solana in the Blockchain Node Engine will significantly cut the time required to run a Solana node, making it available to a wider range of users.

The company also disclosed that it is currently indexing and bringing network data into BigQuery.

### 3.	DApp store to enhance Web3 user experience

The company announced the launch of the dApp Store in preparation for [Web3](/news/article/what-is-web-3.0-crypto) disruption.

Solana crypto news: Google becomes Solana validator

The Coinbase news on 11 October was Google's announcement of its partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange. The move will allow some customers to pay for cloud services with cryptocurrencies in 2023.
The announcement saw the exchange’s shares rise by 8.4% on the same day.

According to the deal, the tech company plans to use Coinbase Commerce, a platform that helps merchants accept cryptocurrency payments, to allow crypto payments for its cloud service. Over time the company plans to enable more customers to make payments with cryptocurrencies.

The Commerce platform supports ten cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, DAI, [Litecoin](/news/article/moon-litecoin), Shibu Inu, Tether, USD, and USD Coin.

The deal will also see the exchange move its data-related applications from Amazon Web Services to Google. The move will enable it to use the company's cloud computing platform to process blockchain data at scale and enhance the global reach of its services.

The exchange will also be able to leverage Google Cloud’s leading data and analytics technologies to provide its customers with machine learning-driven cryptocurrency insights.

## Coinbase Prime

The tech company also plans to use [Coinbase Prime](https://www.coinbase.com/prime#:~:text=Coinbase%20Prime%20is%20an%20integrated,Coinbase). This service provides a secure store for organizations' cryptocurrencies and allows them to execute trades, for institutional crypto services such as secure custody and reporting.

According to Amit Zavery, vice president and head of the platform at Google Cloud, it was not a guarantee that they would have gone with the crypto platform for the payments portion of the deal. They had looked into other companies, including Paypal, but settled on it because "it had the greatest capability".

This Coinbase news did not surprise many people, as the tech company had previously indicated it was exploring the potential of adding support for payment with digital currencies.

## Support for the partnership

The tech company had been in discussions with the crypto platform for months before the deal was made public.
In support of the partnership, Brian Armstrong, CEO and co-founder of the exchange, said they are excited that the tech company has selected them to provide developers with powerful solutions and to help bring Web3 to new users.

Armstrong added that the exchange has spent more than ten years building industry-leading products on top of blockchain technology and they were happy about the new opportunities the partnership brought.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, said that they want to make building in Web3 faster and easier, and that the partnership with the exchange helps developers get closer to that goal.

He added that they were proud the exchange had chosen them as a partner and they were ready to serve global Web3 customers and partners.

Many in the crypto space are excited about the Coinbase news and welcome the partnership. They see it as a big win for the crypto industry and hope for more partnerships between blockchain-based and traditional companies.


Coinbase News: Google Partnership

According to the latest [NEAR protocol](https://near.org/) news, the [NEAR Foundation](https://near.foundation/), the company behind the blockchain and dApp platform, announced a [new partnership](https://near.org/blog/near-teams-with-google-cloud-to-accelerate-web3-startups/) with Google Cloud. Google Cloud will provide technical support to NEAR grant recipients as part of this collaboration.

In this new partnership, Google Cloud will provide the infrastructure for the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) node provider to Pagoda, NEAR's Web3 startup platform, allowing developers to deploy code quickly, securely, and seamlessly.

Carlos Arena, director of digital assets at Google Cloud, said in a statement that their company will provide Near developers a "secure, reliable, and sustainable cloud infrastructure on which they can build and scale" and that the company will continue to support "new products and services on blockchain-based platforms."

## NEAR protocol

[Near protocol](/news/article/near-protocol) is a layer 1one blockchain and dApp platform that works on a [proof-of-stake](/news/article/pos-vs-pow) mechanism. It offers developers a platform to create decentralised applications (DApps).

The platform is proud of its approach to blockchain applications, which is user-friendly, and it has grown significantly in the last year.

The protocol is now used in over 800 projects. The NEAR network now has over 20 million accounts, 200 million transactions to date, and 300,000 to 400,000 transactions per day.

## Pagoda

Pagoda is a startup platform, launched in February 2022. It provides Web3 developers on Near with a full-stack toolset for building, launching, and maintaining their Web3 projects or DApps on the blockchain.

The startup platform enables developers to quickly and easily launch DApps on NEAR through a library of pre-audited templates and automatically generated contract user interfaces.

## Google Cloud is getting into the blockchain

In January, Google Cloud established a new digital assets team to support the development and evolution of the blockchain ecosystem. The digital asset team is dedicated to assisting customers in creating, trading, and launching new products on blockchain-based platforms.

The company inked a similar partnership with Binance's smart contract platform [BNB Chain](/news/article/bnb-chain-security-system) in September, allowing startups building products and services on the BNB Chain to also build on Google Cloud's scalable, secure, and open-source infrastructure.

The company has also recently partnered with Fortress Blockchain Technologies, a Web3 infrastructure company, to launch The Fortress Vault, a new NFT database solution built on Google Cloud's infrastructure.
